Plant your habits.
Harvest your life.
Tane turns showing up into something alive. No streaks to lose. No guilt for being human. Just a little more growth, every day you choose to.
"Streak reset to zero. Again."
If you've tried habit apps before, you already know this feeling.
Day 47. Back to zero.
That streak meant something to you. The app erased it like it never happened.
5 guilt notifications before breakfast.
You muted it. Then forgot about it completely. The guilt won — the habit didn't.
Another badge. Still no real change.
It felt rewarding for a second. Your actual life stayed exactly the same.
Tane is built on one belief: progress should accumulate, not evaporate.
Three things. Every day.
No systems to learn. No dashboard to manage. Just a plant that grows when you do.
Name your habit
Pick one thing you want to build into your life. Just one. Your plant is born the moment you begin — sitting in soil, ready to grow.
Water it daily
Every day you check in, you water your plant and it visibly grows. One tap. A missed day means no water that day — growth simply pauses. Your plant never looks worse than it did.
Build a garden of seasons
As your plant matures through six stages, it joins your personal garden — a record of every chapter you've grown through. Earned progress stays yours forever.
90 days. Zero "You Failed" screens.
Explore the stages below — every transition is earned through quiet, consistent showing up.
Select a stage to explore
Sprout
The habit is starting to feel real. Your first leaves are here.
A missed day never takes this back. Growth simply pauses — your plant never looks worse than it did today.
Built for the life you actually live — not the one you wish you had.
Four principles we refused to compromise on when building Tane.
You see growth from day one
Most habit apps give you a silent first week. Tane responds from the very first time you show up.
Earned progress never disappears
A missed day pauses growth. It never erases what you've built. Reach a stage, and it's yours, permanently.
Rewards come from your real life
No fake trophies. When you hit a milestone, we just ask you to remember something real that happened — because that's the actual reward.
No comparisons. Ever.
No leaderboards, no rankings, no feed of other people's gardens. The only version of you that matters here is last season's.
Your plant grows through six real chapters.
Each stage is a real reflection of how far you've come — not a number on a spreadsheet.
Soil
Day one. You show up, plant your seed. That's the whole job.
Sprout
The hardest part — the first week. Your first leaves show up, and the habit starts to feel real.
Stem
About a month in. This stage is yours now — nothing can take it back.
Sunseed
A couple months. The habit isn't a decision anymore. It's just what you do.
Clay
Months in. You've built something real. Time to go deeper.
Bone
Rare, and shared. Unlocked when your whole cohort shows up together.
"Plant your habits. Harvest your life."
Most habit apps are built to make you feel guilty — cheering a good week, punishing a bad one, like a trainer who only shows up to judge you for skipping leg day.
Tane was built on a different premise: real discipline isn't built through adrenaline or shame. It's built quietly, inside the life you already have.
Your plant is waiting.
Early access is limited. Drop your email — we'll send you occasional updates on how Tane is growing, and a quiet invite when your cohort is ready.

Wait, what is Tane exactly?
Tane is a habit-building app where your progress is represented as a growing plant. Every day you check in, you water your plant and it visibly changes. The core idea: earned progress accumulates permanently, so a missed day pauses growth but never wipes what you've built.
Do I need to track multiple habits?
No. One plant is active at a time. Each habit you track feeds into that single plant — not separate growth arcs. When your active plant matures, you can start a new one for whatever's next. The old plant stays in your garden as a record of where you've been.
Is Tane free? Will I ever hit a paywall mid-growth?
The core loop — watering, growth, all six named stages, Bone, cohort challenges — is free forever. There is no paywall on progress and you can never pay to grow faster or skip a stage. Paid features are cosmetic (plant styles, themes) and deeper reflection tools, none of which affect your growth.
What happens if I miss a day? Does my plant die?
No. A missed day means no water that day — growth simply pauses. Your plant never wilts, never droops, never looks worse than it did. And your stage is protected: once you reach Stem, you stay a Stem even if you miss a whole month.
What makes Tane different from regular habit trackers?
Three things: (1) progress never resets to zero, (2) the plant never punishes you visually for a missed day, and (3) there are no leaderboards or comparisons to other users — ever. The only comparison in Tane is you vs. your own past self.
How does Tane prevent the early drop-off most people experience?
Most apps fail because the user sees no visible reward during the first week. In Tane, checking in on Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3 immediately produces a unique, visible change in your plant — a quiet reward that brings you back before the habit has time to die.
What are Tane's growth stages?
Tane features six distinct stages: Soil (the day you begin), Sprout (the first week — the hardest part), Stem (about a month in — this stage is yours for good), Sunseed (a couple of months — the habit stops being a decision), Clay (months in — time to go deeper), and Bone (rare and shared — unlocked together with your cohort).
What if I disappear for months and come back?
Nothing happens — in a good way. There's no "we missed you," no tally of days gone, no re-onboarding. Your plant is exactly how you left it, ready for today. Tane never makes returning feel like a confrontation.
What does "Your real life is the reward" mean?
Tane does not offer synthetic app tokens or coupons. When you reach a milestone stage, the app prompts you to log an authentic real-life moment — a favorite dinner, a quiet hike, a book finished — anchoring your digital progress in the real world.
Are community cohorts public or private?
Tane operates under a strict "Private failure, shared wins" policy. Cohort members see collective momentum and shared celebration moments, but no one ever sees who missed a check-in. No leaderboards, no rankings, no public profiles — ever.
How do you pronounce Tane?
We say it like "cane" — TAYN. In Japanese, Tane (種, たね) means seed and is pronounced "TAH-neh," two short syllables. Spelled in English letters, T-A-N-E reads the same way as "cane" or "lane," so rather than ask everyone to unlearn that instinct, we kept the simpler English reading. The meaning stayed Japanese; the pronunciation became easy to say and easy to share.
